The challenge
Depression is common and waiting lists for therapy are long. Edupression wanted to give patients an evidence-based programme they could start straight away: short daily therapy units, guided exercises and clear progress, all on their phone.
Because it is a certified medical product, the app had to be easy to use on a bad day, trustworthy with sensitive health data and stable enough for thousands of patients to rely on every week.
What we did
We put a 15-person team on the product: designers, mobile and backend engineers, QA and a delivery lead. Design and engineering worked as one squad from the first sprint. Read more about our healthcare app development work.
- Therapy you can finish in three minutes. Daily therapy units and a clear "today's plan", so starting never feels like a big task.
- Motivation built in. A weekly goal measured in "drops", with a four-week history that shows patients how far they have come.
- Interactive content. Lessons produced in Articulate 360 and delivered inside the app, so clinicians can update content without a new release.
- One reliable platform. iOS and Android apps in React Native, with a Laravel and Node.js backend for accounts, content and progress data.

The outcome
Edupression is live in Germany with more than 10,000 patients using the app. Patients report fewer symptoms and rate the experience highly, and the client's team can keep improving the programme on a platform built to grow.
“They understood our vision for a healthcare platform and transformed it into a sleek, compliant and user-friendly app.”
